My name is Le Pham. Currently, I am pursuing BFA in Metal and Jewelry at California State University Long Beach (CSULB).
I have been highly fascinated with 3-dimensional (3D) art since I was young. My interest comes from my childhood living environment. I grew up in a small village in Vietnam where I did not have access to technology nor the internet. My childhood was spent on outdoor activities with my siblings and friends, which helped me appreciate the natural beauty and colors. Even though my childhood did not provide me with a fancy living environment, it gave me an unforgettable memory, a foundation of my future path, a passion for my career and a strong work ethic.
On the other hand, I am not really good at expressing myself through words and I found art as a way of expressing myself, which also helps contribute to my confidence. Art is an appropriate way to explore my inner self and to develop my curiosity and interests. Therefore, I decided to study and work in the 3D art area.
My inspiration comes from a variety of sources. The ideas of modern architecture and style which are created by lines, basic shapes, and forms are the most inspiring for me. Thus, simple, plain, rectangular shapes, geometric forms and linear elements make the main characteristics of my artworks. The beauty of nature and organic shape also play an important role in my designs. For example, the water falling over smooth rocks, the gust of wind, the growth of a plant, or heat causing ice to melt. All the small movements from nature have always fascinated me to create my work of art. Through my artworks, I can continue my childhood memory, develop my self-confidence and explore my inner self. Art also helps me look at this world through a positive and diverse lens.
